Testimonials – The Thesis
Here is some of the feedback I’ve had on the main thesis sections of the book (i.e. ‘the red meat’).
On the section on government:
‘This is an amazing bit of writing – setting out some fascinating concepts that I hope will be developed later. Every section has it’s own way of challenging the readers ideas. Excellent.’ - Si Peace, Management Accountant, Hertfordshire
‘A really good piece of work. Some of the ideas are akin to the sorts of things I have been mulling over… but I never really extended it to that level. This is pretty profound stuff – a good way of showing people you mean business in the final two chapters.’– Patrick van Beek, Risk Actuary, Avon
On the section on the environment:
‘Wow, this is explosive material.’ – Harriet Swatman, Public Relations Consultant, London
’You know what? I think you just hit the nail right on the head.’ – Owen Kellie-Smith, (ex) Graduate Student, The Met Office, Exeter
On the section on China:
‘By the end of page one, I’m very interested indeed, and deeply involved emotionally. What you are telling us is very far from well known and really eye-opening. I suspect that you will persuade almost everyone who reads this that you are basically right – you have convinced me, for starters. Top quality. Go and edit something else.’ – Ash, Traveller, Peru
On the section on the dynamic of civilisation:
‘The paragraphs that contain the nuts and bolts stuff, and there are many, are inspiring + positive + optimistic + kind + love-promoting.’ – Solomon Burt, Musician, Brighton
On the section on religion:
‘Without wishing to gush too much, I heartily agree with almost every word you’ve written, especially the cosmological interlude. I know you’re not trying to found a new religion – but you might just have to. As for the bit at the end where you deconstruct the nature of mortality, I want that read at my funeral.’ - Simon Hunt, Science Teacher, Manchester
On the section on travel:
‘There’s f*** all wrong with this gem – a gripping read that tells the reader about you and makes them care. This is good, very good indeed. On the title, I suggest you call it “global mosh pit” as I feel it’s gist is our journey towards a more blended and organised global society, in which the current squabbles are but a vital ingredient.’ – Mark Yzerman-Snare, Businessman, London
