Media Update – February 2012

Below is a roundup of some media from the last quarter, some of which will be familiar to anyone who follows me on Facebook.

- Tom Mansfield and I hit Speaker’s Corner, in Hyde Park, to offer our message of optimism and overarching cosmic meaning. The full video is here.

- I wrote an article for The Actuary, on changes to the UK’s managed migration regime (containing Jolly Pilgrim allusions, obviously). The article is online here.

- National Geography Traveller featured The Jolly Pilgrim in its book section here.

- The South African Travel Ideas Magazine ran a feature on The Jolly Pilgrim at the end of last year. No online version I’m afraid.

- The final teaser video, written for and shown at last year’s book launch, is finally online here.

I’ll be at The Village Bookshop in Woodford Green (IG8 0XE) on Saturday 11th February, from 11.00 to 13.00, signing books.

Note: there’s currently a minor hiatus in fulfilling paperback book orders, as a result of switching publishers. The switch will be complete within a week and any outstanding trade or online orders fulfilled.

Today’s factoid: China’s wind-power capacity doubled every year between 2005 and 2009

Over use of the salutation “Sir” gave it a Blackadder feel, but APART FROM THAT, you are clearly getting better at what you want to do. 10’000 hours.

I loved the soapbox piece, totally unexpected! I think I’m finally getting my head around your whole “I’m an optimist and now I know why bit”. Clearly you’re keeping busy, AND having fun.

  3. Peter Baker Says:

Thanks Will! Tomorrow I’m going down to Occupy London to see if I can persuade them to let us do it there. I don’t think they’re going to like it …
