Think bigger about your world

Lots of people claim that the world is in decline. They claim the human race is on a path which will lead to disaster, that overpopulation will cause catastrophe and environmental collapse will spell the doom of human civilisation.

I think those people are wrong.

Others talk of a world unable to find peace with itself, of moral crisis, post-modern angst, broken societies and spiritual turmoil.

I think that’s all wrong to.

I think those views are born of assessing our world in terms of short timeframes and via a set of narrow, limited, early twenty-first-century parameters – seeing the problems the real world has, comparing it to a hypothetical world that only exists in our heads and then judging the state of humanity based on that comparison.

I think it’s time we got over ourselves.

The most important decision you have to make
is whether you live in a hostile or friendly universe.
– Albert Einstein

The human race is now in a position to draw up a more ambitious interpretation of its collective condition. So, in this book, that’s what I’ve done – set out a narrative which is bigger, sunnier, more scientific, less emotional and profoundly more optimistic.

  1. Simon Hunt Says:

I wasn’t sure about the first two videos, but this one is awesome. Go Pt!

If the overall intention was to have me gagging to read this book, then this split the arrow…

p.s. I also thought the “Enlightenment 2.0″ tag line was cool too – or did you decide to drop that one?
